Prune Cake
Ingredients For Cake
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cup all purpose flour, sift
  • 1 cup cooked prunes, mashed fine
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla flavoring
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • Ingredients For Icing
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. white karo syrup
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • Directions For Cake
    Blend all together. Cook in sheet cake or layers at 300 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Directions For Icing
    Bring to a rapid boil and stick holes in cake with a fork and spread on icing while still warm. Sprinkle with nuts or coconut.
